Summer Camps 2014

Join us for some Summer Art Fun!

June 9-12 (Monday - Thursday)

Collage Art for Artists age 10 and up
9:00-10:00 am
Fees: $36 per student, supplies included



This class is designed for middle and high school students. We will study the art work and lives of Megan Coyle and Steve Jenkins. Students will work collaboratively to create unique papers to be used by the class to create original collage art work inspired by these artists. We will also learn about narrative collage and create an art piece that tells a story. Students will participate in class critiques of each others' work. 








African Masks for Artists 6-14 years old  Class is Full
10:15-11:15 am
Fees $36 per student, supplies included

In this class we will learn about african culture and the art of mask making. We will use this information to inspire our own unique mask! We will do pre-sketches, build a mask form out of cardboard, cover it in paper mache, and decorate it in paint. Artists should come prepared to get creative and messy!







June 16-19 (Monday - Thursday)

Drawing for Artists age 10 and up
9:00-10:00 am
Fees $36 per student, supplies included

This class is designed for middle and high school students. We will be learning how use proportion to help us draw faces. We will learn how to use line, value, and texture to enhance our work and give it form. Students will be encouraged to participate in critiques and discussions. 










Native American Art 1 for Artists 6-14 years old
10:15-11:15 am
Fees $36 per student, supplies included



In this class we will learn about the culture of various native american people and the artwork they have created throughout history. We will use this study to inspire our work in paper arts and game making! 








June 23-26 (Monday - Thursday) Class is Full

Textile Arts for Artists 6-18
10-11:15 am
Fees $45 per student, supplies included

In this class we will explore textile arts from around the world. We will create our own stamp and make our own cloth after the style of African Adinkra printing. We will also create a faux batik cloth after studying the work of Indonesian artists. This class will be successful for young artists as well as teens. Everyone will receive the same instructions but will be able to work at their own level of creativity. Artists should come prepared to work with non washable paints.
