Session II
Famous Artist Study - Jasper Johns
Jasper Johns was an American artist that came onto the scene in the 1950s. Much of the work that he created led the American public away from the expressionism form, and towards an art movement or form known as the concrete. He would depict many flags and maps, and this created a more distinct style with the work that was being done during this period in American art history. We will pattern our project after the work of Jasper Johns by experimenting with multimedia layers, typography, and symbols.

Paul Klee, a Swiss-born painter, printmaker and draughtsman of
German nationality, was originally associated with the German Expressionist group Der
Blaue Reiter, and subsequently taught at the Bauhaus, the widely
influential German art school of the interwar period. Klee's diverse body of
work cannot, however, be categorized according to any single artistic movement,
or "school." His paintings, which are at times fantastic, childlike,
or otherwise witty, served as an inspiration to the New York School, as
