In this class we will have fun combining math and art as we learn all about the life and work of M.C. Escher. We will use the elements and principles of design to create interesting and one of a kind tessellations. We will increase our art vocabulary and understanding of what makes an artwork successful. Students will be involved in group discussions and encouraged to use their new vocabulary to discuss artwork.

Artists 3-5 years old
In Preschool Art we work on lots of fun projects to help learn art skills such as cutting with scissors, drawing, painting, and glueing. We also focus on art vocabulary like texture, line, symmetry, etc. Most of all we have fun with the process of creating art!!!

In this class we will use a variety of drawing tools. We will focus on proportion, shading, adding details, and much more. Students will be encouraged to join in on class critiques and use art vocabulary to discuss their own and others' artwork.

In this class we will study the life and work of Van Gogh. We will learn how he used the elements of art to create his landscape paintings and then apply what we have learned in a landscape painting of our own. We will increase our art vocabulary and understanding of what makes an artwork successful. Students will be involved in group discussions and encouraged to use their new vocabulary to discuss artwork.

In this class we will study the life and artwork of Rouault. We will discuss the expressionist period and how to show emotion in artwork. We will create a portrait inspired by the work of Rouault using paint, chalk, and india ink. We will engage in a class critique and discuss how our art makes us feel and why.
